Ninja Gaiden III will be one of Wii U’s major third party games when it releases late next year. It will also be on Xbox 360 and PS3 but Tecmo plans to take full advantage of Wii U’s additional hardware power and unique controller and offer an enhance experience over Nintendo’s competitors.
"We really wanted to use whatever hardware we were on, we want to use to its full potential and really push that. Not just in spec, but the features that make that hardware unique,” said Peter Garza, Tecmo‘s Localization Producer to VG247. “So for right now with Wii U, we're just starting to know what Wii U is and how we can make it fun."
The team working on Ninja Gaiden III for Wii U is a separate team from Xbox and PS3 version. Garza said the game is up and running on Wii U’s dev hardware and that they are still “playing with control schemes to see what would be fun with Wii U.”
"We're just getting it up and running now on Wii U and we're still finding out what the hardware can do and how to work with the hardware itself," he said. "We're at a very early stage, so we can't say that we're pushing it to its limits right now, but I can tell you that the team being what it is, is definitely interested in pushing the hardware as hard as it can."
Ninja Gaiden III is expected to be released in the second half of 2012. -TNGG
