By that time, developers have figured out how to maximize a console’s power and push the hardware to its limits. After a disastrous semi-annual financial briefing last week, Nintendo tried to cool investors’ worries by announcing plans to have finalized Wii U hardware at E3 next year. Nintendo originally planned to have their new console on shelves by that time, but hardware issues and software delays have now pushed the launch to September or October next year.

Sony quietly showed off a never-before-seen pic of a prototype Playstation 4 controller this week. The company was quick to add that the design wasn’t yet final and may still see more changes as the PS4 launch nears. Much like the first entry in the series, BioShock Infinite will make gamers remember why strong story telling still matters in video games. As the industry moves towards more multiplayer and online focused gameplay, a game that solely has a single player mode is becoming, to some degree, extinct. Like with any tru next gen game, it’s a collection of many elements that makes the game stand out from its peers. The next Bioshock looks follow in the footsteps of its predecessor and do it all over again.

Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime admitted that their E3 highlight reel of 3rd party titles for Wii U used footage from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. In an interview with GameTrailers, he added that Wii U games will look at least as good as their PS3/360 counterparts, which is why in the company’s opinion it's was fine to show the games being played on the competition's current-gen hardware.
